The Valley Cultural Center's Monday Morning Concerts for Children place professional musicians in an intimate, educational setting with five hundred K-5th grade children each week throughout the summer. Exposure to music at an early age has been proven to increase academic achievement in math and language and increased comprehension and communication skills. The joy of music and song in our daily lives strikes a personal chord and is invaluable in bridging the gap between peoples of varying cultures and ethnic backgrounds. This interactive program includes a brief history lesson of each musical style; a dynamic performance with selected children invited to the stage; and an opportunity for children to ask questions of the performers. Monday Morning Concerts for Children serves 6,500 young students each season.

	JUNE 29 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre KIDS OF ROCK THEATRE Uniting the forces of rock n’ roll and musical theater for an experience that brings new meaning to the phrase, “Vocal/Dance Group.” Now in its 28th year, the group has electrified audiences ranging from national television, feature films, soundtracks, stage, and live concerts.
	JULY 13 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre THE PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND They have traveled the world, spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, for British Royalty or the Warner Park, their music embodies a joyful, timeless spirit.
	JULY 20 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre RAZZLE BAM BOOM Enjoy the music and comedy duo of Mark Beckwitih and Obediah Thomas. A unique combination of music, audience participation, and comedy, Razzle Bam Boom is for audiences of all ages.
	JULY 27 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre SUSIE HANSEN LATIN BAND This electric violinist plays fiery Latin Jazz and Salsa, creating music that brings audiences to their feet, and dancing in the aisles.
	AUGUST 3 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre JAVIER GUTIERREZ Hailing from Mexico City, with a background in electric rock, jazz and blues, Gutierrez’s primary influences are much more contemporary and new world than the classical roots of Spanish guitar, yet he effortlessly transplants moods, modes and motifs into a sonic panorama of cultures and continents.
	AUGUST 10 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre DEVON SCOTT DICKER With his heart in the right place and the talent to show it off Devon Scott Dicker has put together an impressive collection of material that is easy listening but meaningful at the same time. This is family music, no profanity, nothing negative, only positive and motivating lyrics.
	AUGUST 17 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre TICKET TO RIDE (a tribute to The Beatles) The music of The Beatles lives on from generation to generation. Ticket To Ride performs an incredible rendition of those well-known songs, complete with the familiar outfits, amplifiers, and microphones from the era of Beatlemania.
	AUGUST 24 10:00 A.M. at the Madrid Theatre JIM GAMBLE PUPPETS Jim Gamble performs throughout the nation and around the world with a repertoire of original state-of-the art productions. Each show is comprised of unique puppet characters and staging and may include various puppetry styles – marionettes, rod puppets, life-size Bunraku-style puppets, hand puppets or shadow puppets.
